Taxi chronicles #3

The taxi struggle is real and its not getting any better

You wake up in the morning and you know you have to rush so as to not find yoursef standing in the queue for a long time or else you will miss the following taxi you have to catch

When you get to the queue you scan all the people who are ahead with the hope that you notice a person that you personally know

You go up to them and start a conversation which is usually followed by a lot of giggling

Before you know it, a taxi has arrived and the line is moving……..

You move with the line too because you dont want to end the conversation with the friend and at the back of your head you can feel that one woman’s eyes piercing through your back so as to see if you will move back to your original spot……

But you know better and have no intentions of going to stand at the back anymore and the minute a taxi arrives to pick uo the next load……..you are right in the front seat and right next to the driver

What do you do?????? You strike up a conversation with the driver and you have a huge smile on your face

The taxi starts to move and then you hear people start to whisper about how some people love moving from behind and skipping all the others who managed to wake up on time and end up sitting in the front seat

Then you turn around and instruct the commuters that there is no lose change and to kindly start passing their fares to the front

Please there are five rows and three people per seat so you expect to hear people say: thats the fare for three people and not one one

Then you start sorting out the fares and the bickering starts again, I didnt get my change and all you do is ask the driver how much he is supposed to have per load, count it and hand it to him

With the change thats left you turn around and hand it to the next person behind you and ask them to sort it out

You turn around to the driver and you are no longer smilling and you ask if there’s any music in his taxi

You wait and he pushes the button and its the most crappiest music ever that you never listen to and he puts the volume up so loud and the blood just drains from your face

Mind you the commuters at the back are still on about their change that hasnt come but luckily you have arrived at your stop

As you get off, a fight errupts in the taxi with people moaning that they didnt get their money back

You put on your earphones as you walk towards the next taxi you have to catch in order for you to get to work and you realise

You didnt pay………..πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
